Marina Bay Golf Course
Tanjong Rhu, Singapore
In the tiny nation of Singapore where land is at a high premium, there have been few golf courses and in the last 10 years getting even fewer.
Marina Bay Golf Course, located on reclaimed land just outside the Central Business District has been a fabulous and only 18-hole public course - until it was closed in June 2023 as the government took back the land for development.
Despite being a public course, Marina Bay had immaculate fairways and greens and boasted post card views of the city skyline. It also featured a challenging 600-metre Par 6 on hole 4, that was a highlight to play each time we teed it up here.
This course will forever have special sentimental value as this was where I made a hole in one in January 2015 at the 149-metre hole 15.
Had the pleasure of playing on this course one last time in June 2023 a few days before it closed.
