About the event
The Sherbrooke forest is full of flora and fauna with mix of dense rainforest and fern gullies with casual walking tracks that have you walking by wallabies, kookaburras, and heaps of birdlife. This is a delightful loop through the Dandenong Ranges.
A favourite staple hike in the Sherbrooke Forest to kick off the year and a gentle warm up for the week of hikes at Mt Buffalo.
Beginning from the Coles Ridge car park, we head to the start of the Lyrebird track, before branching off and taking Neuman Road through mountain ash forest and past an open meadow. After the meadow, we continue on Paddy Track which crosses Hardy Creek, before becoming the Welch Track. A short trip through more forest and tree ferns leads to Coles Ridge Track, where we take the last section back to the car park.
Meeting Point: We meet at 8.45 am at Grants…
