About the event
Mullum Mullum Creek is a tributary of the Yarra River that runs for 19km in the outer Eastern suburbs. It is one of the few watercourses lying within urban metropolitan Melbourne that is surrounded by native and regenerated bushland for almost its entire length, and is a significant remnant ecosystem in Melbourne. The bushland along its length provides habitat for platypus, rakali, koalas, rainbow lorikeet, powerful owl, kookaburra, and yellow-tailed black cockatoo.
We will walk along the most interesting section of this trail from Mitcham to Donvale and back, for a total distance of 10km. Most of the trail is paved but there may be some soggy parts from run offs if there had been heavy rains. We may take a couple of unpaved trail detours to vary the return walk. The walk is pretty much flat.
Meeting Point: We will meet at the playground at the bottom of the car park at the Schwerkolt…
