Mt Dandenong Burkes Lookout via Fireline, Scar, ZigZag & Camelia Tracks

This is a challenging 12km hike where we take on the notorious Scar Track for a steep rocky scramble up to Burkes Lookout for sweeping views across the Eastern suburbs to the CBD in the distance. Total elevation gain is estimated ca. 680m.

Starting at the parking area between Destiny Point Cafe and Art & Alchemy Gallery in Kalorama, we descent along the Fireline Track till we get to the bottom of Glasgow (Scar) Track. From here we take on the steep rocky scramble gaining about 350m in a distance of about 600m up to Burke Lookout. From there we take the ZigZag Track down and continue on Camelia Track and take the gentler ascent back up Fireline Track to the starting point. This hike is suggested for those with a good level of fitness and happy to take on a fun but steep challenging rocky scramble.
