This is an Alltrails-guided exploratory hike of 14km and elevation gain of 335m.
This hike combines Lysterfield Lake Circuit Trail that loops around the lake with trails that head to the top of Lysterfield Hill and its lookout which is the highest point in the park. Nice views of the city and outer suburbs plus varied terrain with a mix of narrow and wide dirt tracks. Tracks with some great views of the city and outer suburbs.
Get there nice and early to avoid crowds and enjoy the small lakes including Lysterfield Lake when they are still and have that nice glassy look. The area is popular with mountain bikers and walkers as it has a mix of both tracks that wind through a mix of remnant native vegetation and plantation forest of River Red Gum, Southern Mahogany, Spotted Gum, Swamp Gum, Blue Gum, Forest Red Gum, Long-leaved Box a…
